Here We Go (Again......)

Hi! My name is Beth. I'm 29 years old and I'm overweight.

Feels like the start to an AA meeting. Or maybe an overeater's annonymous meeting. I've never gone to one. But I am definitely a food addict of some sort. My main pitfalls: sugar, chocolate and sugar. Mmmmmm sugar.

About a month ago I had my blood drawn during a routine physical. Turns out my sugars were at a high level. I wasn't surprised, I've always be hypoglycemic, or hyperglycemic, or whichever one it is. But this time, they wanted me to do a glucose tolerance test just to be sure everything was OK.

After I scheduled the appointment, I started looking into diabetes and other sugar-related illnesses. The lists of the symptoms and risk factors ran like a checklist of my life.

Overweight? Check.
Constant fatigue? Check.
Excessive thirst and appetite? Check.
Headaches? Check.
Family history? Check.

Luckily the glucose tolerance test came out normal, so I'm not yet in that pre-diabetes pool. But if something doesn't change, it will only be a matter of time before I get pushed into the deep end.

So what am I going to do about it?

Diet. I've done the Weight Watchers thing, I've tried "changing my lifestyle," but my lazy ass needs RULES AND REGULATIONS. And more than anything, I want to rid my body of EVIL SUGAR. Simply eating smaller portion sizes and trying to choose healthier foods will not stop me from eating the sweetest foods I can find.

Plan of attack: The Ideal Protein Diet.
Base of operations: Ideal Weigh Weight Loss Center in Sioux Falls
Estimated departure: 5:30 p.m.
First stop: Informational seminar. Expect significant investment costs....
